The Turanian/Turkoman Horse in Europe and the Americas
According to legend, Europe owes its name to the daughter of the Phoenix, which was stolen by Zeus in the form of a bull and abducted on the Greek island of Crete.
So that was the namesake of this continent, a traveler, though of course, involuntary travelers. Travel has always been an important meaning in Europe. No other continent offers travelers such a wide variety of cultures, landscapes, languages and people in such a small space.
From the Atlantic to the Urals, it is not more than 6000 kilometers from the North Cape to Cape Finisterre in Portugal even only 3800 km. They are erdgeographisch seen cats jump and at all times, there was limited space in this lively exchange.
Was it a long time, military campaigns and conquests by this exchange came about, then this has fortunately changed. After the disastrous second World War II, many millions of people lost their lives, it was decided that Europe should be no longer a continent of wars and devastation, but rather a united continent, where should people live in peace and prosperity.
Thus arose already in the 50s the first forerunners of today's European Union, which now counts 27 countries and has grown year after year and continues to grow.
The Schengen agreement abolishing border and customs controls have contributed to that traveling has become within the continent simple and straightforward, and so are taking place today, fortunately no wars or migrations more by the cultural exchange, but it is primarily of tourism in Europe, which provides a (mostly) peaceful encounter of peoples of the continent.
Tourism in Europe is also an important economic factor for many countries and even one of the most important sources of income.
Was it in the 60s and 70s, especially the inhabitants of the industrialized North and Central Europe traveled, especially the travel world champions Germany, began gradually to discover, through the convergence of living standards, including the Southern and Eastern Europe to travel, and today almost all of Europe is on its way. The favorite destination of Europeans, of course, their own diverse continent.
But of course it's not just the Europeans who travel to Europe, but also Americans and Asians know the uniqueness and the diversity estimate.
Legendary are the Japanese, who are provided with their cameras, almost all the tourist highlights of the continent.
No wonder, because Europe offers its visitors and so really all you can in a short time, just the Japanese often do not travel more than a week of vacation per year, from the Alps to the Mediterranean, from antiquity to postmodernism.
